Hey there
We currently have a 2000 EZGO that my husband stretched and originally had a 9hp engine. My husband sold th3 9 and bought a Honda 24, which we're really excited about, but in order to make it "go" there are a couple of things that need upgrading. After installing the motor we realized we are going to have to upgrade the cables to workhorse cables. But the thing that is getting to us is the new clutch. We are wanting to go with the comet clutch but when we went to order it it says that it has a 1" crankshaft, my husband says and the hondaengines.com place says ours is a 1 1/8" crankshaft. So we have 2 questions:
1. What kind of clutch do you guys use?
2. Is there anything else that is going to need upgrading?

So the mediocre one won't work? But on the description for the 780 it said for the Honda, there's no way to make it fit? What do you guys think about the 94c, that is the same size

Sally,
The 94C makes a great boat anchor but a crappy golf cart clutch. When you go with the 24 Honda the 1190 is your best bet. Due to the fact it has a 1 1/8 " crankshaft the 780 will not fit. Its the price you pay for using the 24 Honda. You don't want a $1200 motor in a cart with a cheap clutch.

If a spacer is needed for alignment it would go between the engine and the clutch. On the outside of the clutch just the included washer and a bolt that fits your engine.

No the spacer is used to align drive and driven clutch. It all depends on where YOU installed your motor. There is no "standard"
