wish i had pics of this!!!!... It was a beautiful central fl. morning!...the ride started on the slow side as always...cart warmed up and the coffee was tasting good i put the pedal to the metal like a bullet thru a barrell and thats when it happend!!! BANG!!!! Drive cluthch shatterd in to more pieces than i can count! I think i picked most of them up so that the neighbors dont get any flat tires!! Wasted a brand new belt too!!! Engine seems to be fine.. i hope!! Clutch gave me no warning!! was doing about 28-30m.p.h at 4700 rpms... have never seen anything like this! Oh well!! Laughed it out!!! I think its cool when things fly apart like that! not cool that i have to buy a new one!! |

Rebuilt drive clutch tonite... Got a used one from a friend! After several attempts at reassemble... i decided that i needed some thing to drink!!! The (big washer) kept falling off of the shaft when i would flip the clutch face over to put it on the shaft! A cold one was all i needed and i put a little rvt on the washer and it went rite on!!! Looking forward to a long weekend of riding!!! Thinking i should have bought the 200 rpm spring while i had it apart!! But now that i have rebuilt one it will be a easy task next time! |

Any suggestions? When i take it apart next time the only thing i can think of to look for is maybe a bur on the cluthch face or something! Thanx as always ... Larry |

| Only two things i did not relace was the idler bearing and the thrust washer... dont think the idler bearing would keep it from engageing but the thrust washer looked like it had some wear... i just flipped it over! Cant think of anything else that would be!... Anyway going to box it all up and send it to you just as soon as i can get my hands on it !! Going to need a new belt and the 200 rpm spring along with the clutch machining! Wish i didnt live so far away from where i keep my cart!!!.. would have it boxed up and on the way!! Thanks again Tom...Larry |
