Two weekends ago, I hauled my 97 EZ-GO to the Quail Unlimited Sporting Clays Tourney in Dublin, Ga. On the morning of the first day of the tourney, my cart refused to start and after close examination, it was determined that the fuel line/siphon that goes down into the gas tank had come loose and fallen to the bottom of the tank during the 400+ mile journey from our home near Wilmington, NC. I rented a cart for the day to finish out the shoot! LESSON LEARNED....Check yours before it falls into the bottom of the tank, especially before a long trip.

Prior to going to Georgia, I had spoken with Tom at Dixie Sales about machining my drive clutch. Well, I was able to kill two birds at one time by getting the fuel siphon problem fixed and getting some climbing power also. If you intend to drive to Tom's shop, be sure to call for clear directions, because MapQuest sent us on a journey!

When we rolled up, Tom was working in the shop and immediately came out to greet my wife's Uncle and me. He assessed the fuel siphon problem immediately and had that situation repaired in less than 10 minutes. The removal of the drive clutch was a different story and took some convincing with the aid of a brass pipe/hammer. When Tom finally got the drive clutch off, he disassembled the clutch and confirmed that the "ramps" were completely shot. He immediately machined the two clutch halves, installed a beefier spring, new ramps and put it all back together and then reinstalled it on the cart, all without taking the EZ-GO off of the trailer. While he was at it, I asked Tom to go ahead and install a new drive belt and generator belt.

We enjoyed our visit and also met Tom's wife. She even allowed us to take her "garden cart" for a test spin! This thing is scary, it handles like a sports car and lives up to its former description in this forum. My vacation next year may include a pit stop for a V-Twin upgrade!

Upon returning from our visit with Tom, I couldn't wait to try out the EZ-GO on some hilly terrain on my wife's relatives farm in Cairo, Ga. I could not believe the difference. This thing now has torque and pulling abilities that I never thought would be possible. It climbed a steep grade that actually stalled the Uncle's Kawasaki Mule (2WD/High range and Lo Range). I climbed it several times and even stopped 1/2 way up the hill, shut the engine down and started from a cold start and she climbed like a billy goat.

I am more than pleased with the results and would recommend this simple yet highly EFFECTIVE upgrade to anyone. You will also be pleased to know that Tom is very personable and responsive. Great Customer Service Skills, which in this day are hard to come by. I will post pics of the EZ-GO climbing the red clay hills of Georgia soon.

We are all accustomed to Tom's great service and excellent work and parts. I'm glad he got your cart to your liking in a short time, and probably for a price that beat anyone around. Some other places don't do business that well, but Tom here should RUN the Better Business Bureau, because he knows how to keep folks happy! Welcome to the forum, by the way, and we'd all like those pictures! Smile Cool

Nice cart looks great. And I know that picture don't show the true incline of the hill.

Ron, the rims are the latest from ITP. They are the SS 112 wheels. I found them at Graham Golf Cars in Myrtle Beach. Pull up ITP's webpage and you may be able to see them better. I like them a lot and have receieved numerous compliments. They have a wide offset too.

Sam, you are right about the photo not showing the degree of difficulty of the hill. It was pretty steep, as you can see from one of the later photos, I was standing at bottom of hill and took the photo while the cart was near the top , and in the photo you can see the actual topside of the roof, if that tells you anything about the incline.

Question, with this particular lift, my stock shocks are stretched to the max, (rear shocks have extensions already) any suggestions on types/brands of longer shocks for the EZ-GO, or will I have to purchase some actual truck shocks and fabricate the ends so they will bolt onto the EZ-GO?

Thanks for the info on the wheels, they look great. On your front shocks,
could you fab up some extensions similar to the rear??

Ron, 10-4 on fabbing the shock mounts. Rancho 5000's may soon be on order!
